Being able to worldbuild is one of the great pleasures of fantasy and science fiction. In this workshop I’ll discuss (and take questions on) crucial elements of worldbuilding. Where can the writer start? What questions help guide the process? What kind of details, often neglected, can end up being extremely important? If there is time I will also discuss techniques by which writers can introduce the world to the reader without overwhelming the plot with information dump. Questions and discussion will be welcomed in this workshop.
